My name is Karla Esquivel Williams, and I teach all levels of Spanish at Blooming Grove High School. I am originally from a small West Texas town called Fort Stockton. I went to college in nearby Odessa, Texas at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin or UTPB. I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Spanish and a minor in Child and Family Studies. I will be starting my sixth year teaching here at Blooming Grove High School, but this will be my 12th year teaching overall. I'm married to Coach Williams, the athletic director here, and have two daughters. One will be starting her freshman year at Blooming Grove High School, and my other daughter graduated from here last year and will be attending Navarro College this fall.
As a teacher, I believe that we are given the opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives, not only academically, but in their everyday lives as well. I believe in creating an environment in which students know that each and every one of them matters and is important to me. An environment where they feel free to ask questions, therefore allowing their minds to grow. I believe students should be given the same respect in the classroom that we expect from them and in doing so allowing the students to feel like the young adults that they are.
